Stephanie Shiflett

Associate Editor

Stephanie has been called the “Good Cop of Grammar” because she does not believe editing has to be scary or scarring but believes instead that the author should learn from the process and have the final say in their work. Stephanie is a fiction copyeditor with a specialty in romance but loves working with all genres. She offers judgment-free copyediting and proofreading services to help make necessary corrections without changing the authenticity or tone of the book. Her goal is to help authors refine their work through quality copyediting and proofreading, so it’s polished for publication.

Stephanie earned a specialized certificate of copyediting from UCSD and is currently a member of EFA, ACES, and the Romance Writers of America. Currently, she is working with RWA on developing a curriculum for a new editing course for authors. She's worked with Kensington Books, Meals on Wheels, and numerous indie authors.

In her spare time, she's an avid reader and enjoys classics and speculative fiction as well as hanging out with her three feline editing assistants.
